Change The Direction Of Your Ceiling Fan To Save Money
One of the easiest and most economical ways to save money on heating and cooling cost is to make sure the blades on your ceiling fan are turning in the correct direction.
The other night my air conditioner stopped working and the outside air temperature was over 90 degrease. The only relief from the heat I had was the cooling effect of my ceiling fan's.
I have very high ceilings in my home, that’s one reason why my ceiling fans are so important. Operated correctly, ceiling fans can save you hundreds of dollars on your energy bill without sacrificing comfort.
Which Way Should The Blades Turn?
During the warm summer months when you want the cooling effect of a ceiling fan, make sure the fan runs counter-clockwise.
During the long cold Minnesota winters, run the ceiling fan clockwise. This circulates the warm air next to the ceiling to make any room feel warmer.
It only cost a few pennies a day to operate a ceiling fan so besides the added comfort its also extremely economical to operate.
