I’ve been trying to get Todd to join Western Construction since the late 1980’s when he worked for Knox Lumber Company and was our customer service representative. Todd’s career really took off when he went to work for Scherer Brothers Lumber back in the late 1990’s. The first 2×4 my father ever bought was in 1949 and it was from Scherer Brothers Lumber so our paths were again crossing.
Todd eventually became our lumber salesman at Scherer Brothers. He was more than a salesman. He became a indispensable part of the Western Construction team.

He’s arranged and facilitated instructional seminars for product knowledge, sales, products, estimating and building codes. This is a huge asset of Todd’s. He not only designs your remodeling project but he also trains the crews in the proper installation techniques required by the manufacture and the State of Minnesota building code.
He’s an expert at understanding and interpreting the local and national building codes.
4: Design Expertise
He created a $4,000,000 customer base as an outside sales representative at Scherer Brothers Lumber. This customer base consisted of some of the most respected remodeling contractors and builders in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. Todd provided solutions to some of the most complex problems of the day. Todd has seen firsthand hundreds of ways these top Minnesota remodelers have built family room additions, master bedroom suites, and kitchen and bath remodels. In fact many in ways Todd helped design them.

Todd’s been to several window manufactures for training including, Marvin Windows and Doors– 4 times, Anderson Windows- 5 times, Hayfield Windows and Doors-twice and Silverline Windows-once.
He’s also been to the Trex decking plant-once, LP Smartside siding-once, Simpson Strong Tie once and Valspar paint-once.
