I was recently contacted by a customer who asked if we were a custom garage builder? Of course, we're the Twin Cities best custom garage builders, why do you ask? He said our web site is full of garages but nothing came close to the type of custom garage he wanted.
I asked him what he was looking for and he gave me a nice list to start with.
- Custom attached garage
- Had to start this year meaning, winter construction
- Flat roof
- Custom one of kind Trex deck on top of the flat roof
- Cable railing so not to obstruct the view of Lake Minnetonka
- Siding had to match his historic Tonka Bay home
- Field stone also had to match the era of the home
- All molding had to match
- Doors and windows to match his 100 year old home
- Room enough for at least three cars
- Insulated
- Sheetrock
- Taped, sanded and painted
- Heated
- Wiring including phone, cable and the Internet had to be hard wired
I asked him if that was all and he said that's all he could think of at the moment! I had to think about taking on this sort of custom garage project not because it was difficult to build but because it was the end of the Minnesota garage building season and I knew it would go at least until the end of February. Most custom garage builders would turn down a garage project like this but I was really excited about making my customers dreams come true. Winter construction created more issues than his wish list but this was a repeat customer and I didn't want to let him down.
